As a derivative of graphene,graphene oxide has made a good development prospect in practical application,due to the advantages of low cost,readily available raw materials and its good mechanical properties and many available oxygen-containing functional group(hydroxyl group,carboxyl group,etc.)on its surface.At present,more physically blending methods are used on the application of graphene oxide in polymers,because of its combination with the polymer is a simple patchwork,the excellent performance of graphene oxide can't fully exert.To break the traditional modification methods,the chemical method was adopted instead of the physical blending methods in polymer materials,and the properties of modified polymers were studied.Firstly,graphene oxide was prepared by Hummers method.Then,the structure and morphology of graphene oxide were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction apparatus(XRD),etc.and the results showed that graphene oxide was successfully prepared and a large number of oxygen-containing functional groups were carried on the surface.Nextly,graphene oxide was gradually reacted with silane coupling agent(KH550),isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI),hydroxypropyl methacrylate(HPMA),and the modifier: NGI-HPMA needed for the experiment was obtained.FT-IR,sample residual isocyanate(-NCO)value analysis demonstrated that graphene oxide was successfully grafted with HPMA by chemical bond bonding.In addition,the modifier NGI-HPMA was introduced into the monomer mixing system of acrylic acid(ester),a water-soluble polymer modified by graphene oxide was synthesized by free radical polymerization and then neutralization into salt.The infrared spectra of the synthesized polymers are proved that NGI-HPMA was successfully grafted to acrylic resin,and the chemical modification of the acrylic resin was successfully achieved by the graphene oxide.Finally,the coating was obtained by introducing the modified water-soluble acrylic serving as the main film-forming material with a certain proportion of amino resin curing agent,furthermore,the influence of the addition of different NGI-HPMA on the film properties was investigated.The results showed that: the water contact angle and abrasion resistance the of coating film are outstanding when the NGI-HPMA is added.As the content of NGI-HPMA reaching to 12.36%(weight percent),the coating film possesses a high water contact angle of 82.14 degrees with the rubber friction resistance of 578 times,demonstrating the best comprehensive performance.
