The final process in ring spinning is the spinning operation.The following processes such as winding,weaving and dyeing and finishing will be affected by the yarn quality.If the broken yarn can not be solved for a long time,the continuous consumption of raw materials will lead to a decrease in yarn production and low production efficiency,which will directly affect the economic benefit of the enterprise.At present,the traditional manual inspection of yarn breakage not only take a lot of working time and is inefficient,so it is difficult to meet the needs of the enterprise for the management of broken yarn.In view of the problem,the detection and information management system of ring spun yarn breakage was developed,it was an automatic control system used in the spinning process of cotton spinning mill,could monitor and analyze the state of yarn in real time.The yarn breakage detection in this system used the circuit mode,the yam breakage detection device was equipped on each side of each spinning frame,the detection device detected the yarn breakage in the process of reciprocating and moving along the guide rail.The information management part of the system included real-time displaying and the further statistics and analysis of the yarn breakage,which was conducive to improve the production efficiency and management level of the spinning workshop.The broken yarn information stored in the database was displayed on the tablet computer which was easy to carry and had less power consumption by programming and interface design.Spinners handled broken yarn timely and supervisors knew the working situation of spinners in time according to the display of the tablet computer.The total breakage time and the number of ends of the single spindle,the backward spindles of each spinning frame,running efficiency of spinning frame and an hour’s break of a thousand spindles were calculated according to a large amount of broken yarn information in the database,it was very convenient for supervisor of the workshop to view the information on the client side and improve the supervision level of the cotton mill.The system included the yarn breakage detection circuit car,yarn breakage alarm indicator module,the wireless communication base station,database server,the tablet computer and the data mining software.The wireless communication base station was communicated with the yarn breakage detection circuit car and yarn breakage alarm indicator module through ZigBee,and communicated with the database server through the TCP/IP.The database server displayed the broken yarn information on the tablet computer in real time through WLAN wireless communication,and the communication way between datamining software and database server was TCP/IP communication.The system application software was development with C++ language in the Visual Studio 2008 development environment,the database used Microsoft SQL Server 2005.The actual application showed that this system can detect break yarn and show the breakage information stably.
