China is a country with frequent earthquakes,in recent years,Wenchuan earthquake,Yushu earthquake,Lushan earthquake and other strong earthquake caused a large number of houses damaged or collapsed,to the country and the people brought great losses.In order to reduce the losses caused by the earthquake,in addition to the reasonable seismic design for the construction of the new building,another effective way is to carry on seismic evaluation of existing buildings and to meet the requirements of the building seismic strengthening.In November 2016 China released "13th Five-Year urban earthquake disaster prevention plan" explicitly put forward need to actively carry out the comparative study of Chinese and foreign standards,improve the consistency of China standards with international standards or the standards of developed countries.The United States as one of the advanced countries in the field of earthquake resistance,anti-seismic work started earlier,so the seismic evaluation method of Sino US comparative study,which has important theoretical significance and engineering application value.In this paper,we use the Chinese Building Seismic Identification Standard(GB50023-2009)and the American Standard ASCE41-13 and FEMA154,FEMA155 for comparative analysis to obtain the similarities and differences between the two countries in seismic identification of concrete frame structures.This paper summarizes the detailed method of seismic identification of concrete frame structure in China and the United States,and applies it to three engineering examples.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The general idea of seismic identification method for concrete frame structures in China and America is similar.The method of stepwise identification is adopted,but the specific content is different.(2)The idea of American rapid seismic identification method is worth learning from china.(3)The static nonlinear analysis method recommended in the American detailed identification method can simulate the whole process of the structure from linear to nonlinear,which can provide a useful reference for seismic reinforcement.(4)It is suggested that the non-linear analysis and calculation of the supple me ntary structure of Chinese seismic identification method under the action of large earthquake.(5)In the quantitative calculation and analysis,the Chinese seismic identification method is only a single indicator of bearing capacity as a measure,while the United States seismic identification method is a multi-index approach.
