| As an important chemical product,CuCl has been widely used in many fields such as petrifaction, metallurgy, medicine, pigment and so on.But it has not been used as the electrode material for lithium ion battery(LIB)so far.For this purpose,in this paper,CuCl was firstly prepared via electrochemical method, and its morphology and electrochemical performances were investigated. Moreover,CuCl was recycled from Cu printed circuit board(Cu-PCB)waste etchant and its electrochemical performances were further investigated. The main results are as follows:(1)One layer of cubic CuCl crystal particles were in situ grown on Cu foil via an electrochemical method, and the corresponding electrochemical performances were also investigated. The results showed that the positive intercalation voltages CuCl anode was higher than that of traniditional graphite anode. Moreover, the discharge capacity was 250.6 mAh/g after 300 cycles at 2 C,indicating excellent cycling performance.(2)Hierarchical scale-like CuCl was further obtained on the surface of Cu foam with there dimensional(3D)pores,and the electrochemical performances were also investigated. The results showed that the hierarchical scale-like CuCl/Cu foam delivered 287.8 mAh/g at 2 C,and delivered 197.2 mAh/g after 1000 cycles at 10 C.Moreover, hierarchical scale-like CuCl/Cu foam manifested higher Li+ diffusion coefficient than cubic CuCl/Cu foil, indicating that scale-like CuCl/Cu foam was more suitable for discharge at high rate.(3)In order to save the energy and reduce the environment emission, the hierarchical tripod-like CuCl crystals were further recycled from acid Cu-PCB waste etchant via liquid chemical reduction, and the electrochemical performances were also investigated. The results showed that the recycled hierarchical tripod-like CuCl delivered 201.4 mAh/g after 100 cycles at 0.4 C,indicating good cycling performance. |
