In recent years,some field studies have been conducted on indoor thermal environment and thermal comfort in natural ventilating residential buildings,a few on heating residential buildings. Because of the hot summer - cold winter area belonged to non-heating region, residents of this area have formed their own living habits in the long life here. It needs to study the real situation in hot summer-cold winter area. It's suggested to select rational heating temperature set-points for China's hot summer-cold winter climatic region. So,it is necessary to conduct researches on the indoor thermal environment and thermal comfort of the heating residential buildings in hot summer and cold winter area.Firstly, In order to understand the influence of different thermal comfort evaluation scales on the overall thermal comfort evaluation, the field environment in the university classroom in Nanjing is measured before the investigation of thermal comfort in heating room.At the same time, the students in the classroom were divided into two groups and asked to fill in the subjective thermal comfort questionnaires designed with 7-points categorical scales(CS) and CS combined with VAS(graphic CS)scales. The results show that the 7-points categorical scales is more sensitive than the Graphic CS for the change of thermal sensation with operating temperature. The 7-points categorical scales is better than Graphic CS for the linear correlation between the two, which agrees with the results of previous studies.Secondly, indoor thermal environment and thermal comfort of the residents in air condition- heating and floor heating residential buildings of Nanjing (hot summer - cold winter area) were investigated in field test. Through analyses,it shows that the correlation are higher between the thermal resistance of clothing with the operation temperature and the thermal sensation vote in the floor heating room,but that are lower in the air condition-heating room. The residents in the air conditioning heating room always dressed thickly and few adjusted, so they are not sensitive to temperature changes.It was found that adjusting the amount of clothing is the main measure of the residents to improve the thermal comfort of the floor heating room, but not the main measures of the residents to improve the thermal comfort of the air condition- heating room.Third,through the statistical analysis of the thermal sensation and the satisfaction rate of the environment in the air condition and floor heating room, the results show that the lower acceptable temperature of 80% residents in the air conditioning heating room and the floor heating room is 14.08? and 12.29? respectively,which are both under 18 ? .Compairing 80% of residents acceptable temperature range with other field results of hot summer-cold winter region,we suggested the rational heating temperature set-points as 16.5 ? .Finally, the thermal adaptation model of heating residential buildings in Nanjing is established, which can provide reference for the heating design of residential buildings and the establishment of thermal comfort standards.
