Pithecellobium clypearia(Jack)Benthbelongs to the plant of leguminousarboreal,its young leveshave functions of heat-clearing and toxic materials,anti-diarrheal;it is also indicated for the tonsillitis,stomachache,damp-heat diarrhea,extenal use for burns and eliminating dampness,healing sore.Pithecellobium clypearia isparticular south medicine to treat variety of heat syndrome and haswide marcket prospects.The main growth mode of Pithecellobium clypearia is wild,and it is widely distributed inSouthernChinaand Southeast Asia.Fromthe perspective of current salesmarket,Pithecellobium clypearia is the raw materail of the preparations such as single preparation Pithecellobium clypearia sulphanilamide tablet,Pithecellobium clypearia Xiaoyan capsule,Pithecellobium clypearia Xiaoyan granules and compound preparation of stomach tablets,and it was included in the protected variety of Chinese medicine.As most of Pithecellobium clypearia come fromwild resources,the demand for Pithecellobium clypearia on the market is stepping up,and the medical supply can’t be guarranted.Pithecellobium clypearia is encounrting resource shortage,and the demand exceeds supply.Some companies increase their purchase and even import Pithecellobium clypearia from Southeast Asia countries such as Vietnam to meet their demand,this kind of practice produces the increase of cost and then encounters vicious circle,it also can destroy the wild resources and cause huge nagitave effect.Now,Pithecellobium clypearia has not been brought intoChinesePharmacopoeia,only hasdescription of character and TLC Traditionalmedicine Standard in Guangdong province.In addition,Pithecellobium clypearia is spectrum antibacterial anti-inflammatory and the Anti-inflammatory capsule made by Pithecellobium clypearia was placed on the prescription drugs.It is of great importance to establish quality standard suatible for Pithecellobium clypearia to control the quality of medicinal materials effectively.Our group focused on the deep research for the seeds,tissue culture seedling,extracts of Pithecellobium clypearia except medicinal materials.So this topic do research on Pithecellobium clypearia and provide reference for rational utilization through research and study for Pharmacognosy features and active component content of it.Objective:There were a few reports on the quality standard of the medicinal materials,the research mainly focused on the pharmacological effects and the quality standard of the preparationduring the past years.So the referable information available were very limitedwhen developing quality standards.We used tender leaves of Pithecellobium clypearias,since the herbal medicine resources are limited,quality standard of Pithecellobium clypearias was then developed in order to lay the foundation and prove the rationality and feasibility of the grading standard.Methods:This research group collected 24 of annual,biennial,triennium-growth old leave and young leave of March,June,September,December in order to make full use of the resources to avoid waste and make a comprehensive evaluation for the quality of medical materials.According to the ChinesePharmacopoeia(2015),we did systematic quality standard research on the collected 24 batches of Pithecellobium clypearia,including:(1)medicinalproperties,identification(microscopic identification;TLC),inspection(moisture;total ash;acid insoluble ash).(2)established a method to test the total sugar and total flavonoidsin the medicinal materials of Pithecellobium clypearia by UV spectrophotometry.(3)got the HPLC fingerprint of 24 batches of Pithecellobium clypearia using gallic acid as reference peak and adopt the method of testing gallic acid and quercetin by HPLC;(4)referenced the ChinesePharmacopoeia(2015)when writing the scheme and clarification about Pithecellobium clypearia.Result:1.There are some obvious differences were observed in appearance character and powder microstructure of Pithecellobium clypearia.Contents of moisture,total ash in Pithecellobium clypearia were determined.The results showed that the moisture content were less than 11%and total ash content less than 4%.The contents of water in Pithecellobium clypearia were higher than 13%.The contents of alcohol in Pithecellobium clypearia were higher than 22%.2.The contents of general flavone in Pithecellobium clypearia were 0.48%~1.13%.The contents of gallic acid in Pithecellobium clypearia were 1.17~5.14%.The contents of quercetin in Pithecellobium clypearia were 0.08~0.85%.3.The similarities were calculated and proved more than 0.9 with the help of the similarity calculation software of fingerprint chromatography of traditional Chinese medicine.4.In the growth cycles,Pithecellobium clypearia leaves during the June-September period on the accumulation of mineral elements in a period of volatility.Conclusion:1.The results showed that the contents of general flavone were at the higher level in June to December.The contents of quercetin and gallic acid were at the higher level in June to September.2.The results of high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)fingerprint showed that the quality of Pithecellobium clypearia were safe and reliable.3.In the chapter of study on the dynamic accumulation of the chemical constituents in Pithecellobium clypearia,we drawed conclusions that June to September are the best harvest period for Pithecellobium clypearia.Mineral element required for plant growth should be added during this period in time.
