The Effects Of Acupuncture On Yu, Yuan And Acupoints On SUA, XOD And ALP In Rats With Hyperuricemia

Objective:Through observing the effects of acupuncturing the kidney,spleen and liver’s acupoints of Shu,Yuan and large and small intestine’s acupoints of Mu on the levels of serum uric acid(SUA),xanthine oxidase(XOD),alkaline phosphatase(ALP)kidney index and the paraffin sections(stained with hematoxylin-eosin,HE)of kidney to determine whether it has an intervention on the formation of gout hyperuricemia and to filter and select the best points to prevent the gout hyperuricemia.Methods:The experiment had last 90 days.50 rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:blank group,model group,Shu acupoint group,Yuan acupoint group and Mu acupoint group.The rat model of hyperuricemia was prepared by intragastric administration of adenine(100mg/kg)and ethambutol(250mg/kg).Treatment groups were treated at the same time of modeling,needled each time for 15 minutes at the frequency of every second day,10 times for a course of treatment;break for 10 days after the end of each treatment period,the experiment had a total of 3 courses.SU A and ALP were tested by automatic biochemical analyzer,XOD was tested by immunofluorescence,the paraffin sections of kidney were observed under microscope.Results:Compared with the blank group,the levels of SUA and XOD in the model group were significantly higher whilst the renal index was significantly improved,the kidney tubules were dilated and infiltrated with inflammatory cells;compared with the model group,the levels of SUA and XOD in the 3 treatment groups were decreased,and the renal index was also significantly improved;When the 3 treatment groups compared with each other,the results showed that the Mu acupoint group was the most effective in decreasing the levels of SUA and XOD,the Yuan acupoint group was second,the difference of the kidney index in 3 treatment groups were insignificant.There was no obvious difference in ALP in experimental groups.Conclusions:(1)The 3 treatment groups can reduce the content of SUA and XOD by different degree,all can effectively reduce renal damage and intervene in the formation of hyperuricemia to a certain degree,thereby,prevent gout.(2)In reducing the content of SUA,the treatment effect was ranked such as Mu acupoint group>Yuan acupoint group>Shu acupoint group;In reducing the content of XOD,the treatrnment effect was ranked such as Mu acupoint group=Yuan acupoint group>Shu acupoint group.(3)There was no difference in ALP content among all 5 groups,indicating that ALP may not affect the formation of gout hyperuricemia,further research needs to be done to explore the cause.
