Opera Rickshaw Boy is a fierce collision between Western stagecraft and modern Chinese literature, the sparks generated ignited new enthusiasm of Chinese opera creation, and was also a distillation of classic literary figures of Lao She on the opera stage. Mutual learning and transformation between literary arts and opera art makes the opera have a novel-like story which is easy to understand and opera-like wonderful vivid melodies.When the characters in the novel go to the operatic stage, how to ensure the original appearance of the characters as well as have a emotional musical expression is the key to the success of the opera. "Xiangzi", as a classic character of Lao She, has been interpreted by different art forms for many times. The National Theater version of the opera Rickshaw Boy is based on the principle of faithful to the original, mainly using original language for the characters, lines and arias to present a magnificent visual feast of unique flavor with abundant musical texture and melodies with rich ethnic charm. This paper takes the aria of Xiangzi as an example, combining the original novel, to make targeted analysis and reference of the relevant text, multimedia and other information, and probe into the creation background, music style, Singing language and singing skills of the opera; and make analysis of the character image-building and musical expression of "Xiangzi". Chinese opera stage is blossoming, mutual integration and reference of different kinds of art has become a new trend in the development of Chinese opera, classic literary figures go to the operatic stage, adding new vitality to the prosperity of Chinese opera.
