Painting which is as a part of national culture not only has own history in culture development but also relates to people's emotion and spirit. The paintings of all the countries in the form of the expression are different, however, they have something in common. Through comparing Chinese and European paintings in world painting history, we could understand painting more clearly since they are the representatives of east and west.The Chinese landscape painting originated from six Dynasties in the perspective of historical development, after a quite long period of development, which was gradually mature and complete until the Five Dynasties and Song dynasty. The European landscape painting appeared in ancient Rome period, stagnating in the middle ages, which is mature and complete until 17 century in Holland, and then corresponding to Chinese landscape painting in time, both blend and influence each other. At first they appeared as the background rather than independent pictures.The two kinds of paintings are not same in many aspects, but they have many same factors in their respective development tracks. While writing this thesis, the main idea proceeded from the following aspects. First of all, in the aspect of aesthetic development vision, using the aesthetic consciousness, emotional expression and artistic conception as the starting point in order to compare these two kinds of paintings. Secondly, in the graphical aspect, compare theme, sketch, composition, light and shade size, color and style. Lastly, introduce these two kinds of paintings seeking breakthrough and reserving differences on the art. On the side of aesthetic consciousness, the similarity of appreciation and the unity of cognition are talked about in this thesis. On the side of emotional expression, the concordance of heart and thing, subject and object are analyzed. On the side of artistic conception, time and space levels are mentioned. The concern of these two kinds of paintings is the relationship between nature and human beings, which are based on nature and individual subjective feelings of painters permeated into paintings in order to describe the national emotions to achieve the form of harmony and beauty, and both have a certain understanding in the object space and volume levels, at first both of them appeared as the background rather than the independent pictures. With the continuous development of social economy and exchange of culture, Chinese and European paintings also exchange and blend.In the process of research, to find the balance point of art through organizing the intercommunity. To deepen the understanding of paintings, identify their artistic value and position, contribute to the world human beings culture better, have a new understanding and enlightenment of the development of contemporary art through this method of analysis and comparison. For me personally, through organizing the intercommunity further deepen my understanding of paintings and give a lot of inspirations on my creation in art. In the process of artistic creation, we should know ourselves and try to express our hearts through the power of the pen because painting is the process to pursue the true self. At the same time, the process of research is the process of promoting personal painting theory cultivation.
