Advancing with the times is the core of education, whereas if education is separated from the social progress, the students being educated in such way will not keep pace with the development of the society. Currently, as the multi-media technology develops rapidly, it has become much more closely connected with modern people's daily life, while more and more educators and beginning to put the multi-media technology into the field of education. However, up to now seldom has the technology been discussed in the field of sight-singing and ear-training in musical education, and actually the education approaches need to change in accordance with the change of the era as well. For the above reasons, the thesis mainly expounds the necessity of introducing multi-media technology into the field of sight-singing and ear-training and the issue on how to carry on multi-media teaching in the practical teaching. Following the process of from theory to practices, the thesis is trying to find out the model of teaching in sight-singing and ear-training which suits modern and contemporary teaching environment the most.In this thesis, the advantages and disadvantages of two models of teaching, the traditional and the multi-media teaching will be brought into comparisons. Through the comparisons, it can be concluded that it is necessary to carry out the reforms in the sight-singing and ear-training teaching. After the theoretical analysis about the hardware model construction in multi-media sight-singing and ear-training teaching and the operations of related software, the thesis tries to put the theoretical outcomes into the practical teaching cases. Through the detailed problems reflected in the practical teaching cases, the thesis explores the means and approaches of applying multi-media into sight-singing and ear-training. This is of positive significance in improving sight-singing and ear-training teaching scientifically.The whole thesis is composed of four chapters.The First Chapter starts from the comparisons of the traditional and the multi-media approaches to sight-singing and ear-training, and it analyzes the advantages and development bottlenecks of teaching models of sight-singing and ear-training. Through the comparisons of the advantages and disadvantages of two teaching models, the guiding opinions of building up hardware facilities and software selections of sight-singing and ear-training will be set basis.The Second Chapter makes a classification to the classrooms for sight-singing and ear-training according to the different capital requirements. The related hardware facilities can be classified as teaching-orientation and all-round orientation multi-media classrooms. The daily curriculum will be adjusted according to the different course requirements. After proposing some suggestions on hardware facilities and curriculum adjustment, the thesis makes uses of the score cases in the sight-singing and ear-training textbooks of higher normal universities targeting at the possible e-score software. Besides, it also talks about the related software operations in the process of e-musical scores. For the comparisons on the software that can only invoke built-in exam database, the one that suits the sight-singing and ear-training most will be determined. Through the analysis of teaching hardware, course arrangement, software selections in multi-media sight-singing and ear-training, the theoretical foundation of the teaching practices in the next chapter will be set up.In the third chapter, the author chose the sophomores and graduate students in Grade Three from Shandong Normal University as the example, and carried out the teaching practices of multi-media sight-singing and ear-training. According to the classroom teaching procedure and the feedback from students after class, the author tries to solve the problems that show the related deficiencies in multi-media sight-singing and ear-training. In the process of finding out and solving the problems, the author makes reflections on the practical teaching, and summarizes the misunderstandings held by the most of the people to multi-media sight-singing and ear-training. By interpreting to the misunderstandings, more people are willing to accept or to try on the teaching model of multi-media sight-singing and ear-training. Finally, based on the problems arising from the teaching practices in Chapter Three and the unique charms of teaching shown in the sight-singing and ear-training, the author will talk about the future prospects about the applications of multi-media sight-singing and ear-training.In summary, through the above three chapters of specific discussions, the author makes a systematic description on the importance of education reform as well as the significance for introducing multi-media teaching in musical education, with the aim of providing more feasible suggestions on the multi-media musical teaching.
