Since the early 20 th century when solfeggio was introduced into China, solfeggio teaching has become an important basic subject of music major after gradual improvement and evolution. Hearing training as an important part of the subjects of solfeggio, is increasingly valued by colleges and universities. Musical hearing is so important because hearing is the main route of human to feel all music. However, the background of historical development of different countries and different ethnic groups led to the generation of different types of hearing. In solfeggio teaching, the selection of sol-fa is the strong basis of hearing training. Applying tunic sol-fa to hearing training and inducing music elements into mode are important measures in solfeggio teaching and have great significance for hearing training of solfeggio. This paper focuses on the object, feature, significance and specific training method of tonic hearing teaching and the effect of tonic hearing teaching mode on solfeggio teaching in such places as normal universities where outstanding and professional teachers are trained.This paper consists of four chapters and conclusion. The first chapter is the overview of tonic hearing in solfeggio. Tonic sol-fa, after long time reform preceded by Guido sol-fa to the Renaissance in the sixteenth century then to completely molding in the nineteenth century, became an integral part of music teaching especially solfeggio teaching. The hearing training is the soul of solfeggio teaching and it is the key. Applying tonic sol-fa to hearing teaching and training to make the sense of tuning become critical for learners to learn solfeggio has very important significance to current solfeggio teaching. The tonic sol-fa is widely used, whether at home or abroad, in France, the United States, Russia and other countries where solfeggio is treated as essential content of leaning in solfeggio teaching. In this paper, comparative analysis is made between solfeggio teaching in China and other countries(Russia, for example) in terms of teaching materials and teaching content. The second chapter is the tonic hearing training analysis in normal universities. The chapter mainly elaborates the specific characteristics and purposes of tonic hearing training, analyzes the current status of hearing training of solfeggio teaching in normal universities, and makes a brief introduction to the preparation of teaching text of tonic hearing of solfeggio teaching in normal universities. Hearing training exercises of solfeggio teaching in normal universities should set the purpose as to train high-quality personnel of solfeggio to carry out tonic hearing teaching to learners. In this paper, Shandong Normal University and Hunan Normal University are proposed as examples to illustrate the status of the tonic hearing teaching in normal universities. The third chapter describes the tonic hearing training method of solfeggio in normal universities. This chapter mainly explains the specific training methods of intervals, chords, rhythm, single-part and multiple-part melody and national mode.
