The Study Of Overlapping Russian Translation Of Adjectives In A Dream Of Red Mansions

Reduplicative adjectives is not only various in forms and flexible in syntactic function but also is widely used. Domestic Chinese scientists have studied them for a long time, the results of these studies focused on Adjectives classification, syntactic function and grammatical meaning, and the literatures on translation studies are relatively rare, according to this situation, the article attempts to study on Russian translation of adjective reduplications, taking "Dream of Red Mansions" and the russian version in 1958 as the source of the corpus.Firstly, this paper analyzes and discusses the universality and openness of language, taking the theory of translatability and the related theories as the theoretical basises, then further confirms the translatability of language.Secondly, acording to the theoretical research of Zhu Dexi, the paper divides adjective reduplications into AA type, AABB type, ABB type and ABAB type. By summarizing the four categories of reduplicative adjectives in "Dream of Red Mansions", this paper reflects the translatability of adjective reduplications in cultural and ethnic communicative level.Finally, the paper discusses the limitation of translatability of adjective reduplications. This paper analysises the characteristics of adjective reduplications from three angles: rhythm, syntactic function, grammatical meaning,and further reveals That the theory of translatability and the related theories can better solve the translation problem of adjective reduplications, but it is impossible to keep all the features of adjective reduplications, to achieve one hundred percent equivalence translation. Reduplicative adjectives are translatable, but its translatability is limited.
