The rapid development of the Internet has promoted the transformation of the whole of society into an era of fragmentation. In this era of fragmentation, the micro film genre with its short and concise size, is widely welcomed in the market.Micro movies first appeared in 2010, with youth as the theme of a school play, micro film platforms assisted with cultural innovation and social thinking. Before the advent of the micro movie, the campus drama developed for decades bringing several changes to the school play. It has now become favored by film directors of narrative subjects, even allowing a dark horse to win good box office. In mainland China film occupies an increasingly more important status in the market.In the era of fragmentation, the main reason why micro films have achieved rapid development is because it meets the requirement of audiences of this era, and this requirement promotes development greatly. Micro films with a youth theme especially not only help the audience to meet their specific needs for new and unfamiliar things, the culture and social value included also remind the audiences'of happiness and sadness in their own youth when they appreciate the film. Similarly for young directors, school life and youth is their closest memory in life, the naivete, ignorance, wondering emotion, hesitation and persistence will be presented in their movie to demonstrate this youthful spirit,The currently developing campus youth themed film, has largely changed its content particularly with regard to story characteristics and cultural presentation. This dissertation first set the youth micro film in a up-to-date framework and combines the micro film "Regretless Youth " which mainly introduce the pitiful love story between the main actors to describe the changes mentioned above. Meantime, this dissertation introduces the three stages of the school youth micro film development, which are the starting stage, slowly developing stage and breakthrough stage. Also, particular cases are applied to analyze the characteristics of this type of micro film, which are low budget requirements, short production cycles, relative simple distribution and strong interaction, open, entertainment options. The development advantages and difficulties are also explored. Connected with the time characteristics, the developing trend of youth film in the future is also analyzed, such as professionalism of the production group and creating a complete industry chain. This dissertation discusses how micro film is not just a media phenomenon, but also a new culture consumer and marketing model. It is worthy of consideration and further study within the Fields of Journalism and Communication, Movie Making, Society, Economics and Psychology.From an internet perspective, micro film is showing a rapid development trend, especially in school youth micro film and has enabled the interactive platform for discussion between the audience and the production group. Supporting this are huge research and industry value creation and opportunities. However at the same time, the Campus micro film also faces a limitation in skilled production and communication personnel. These limitations show the current restrictions in development, and yet the developing direction of Campus Youth film still needs to be explored in the future.
