The Beauty Of "transient" - On Temporary Public Art

Temporary public art,as an artistic form in the system of public art,primarily is the artistic form with characteristic of transient,installing in the natural environment,city squares and streets,and contemporary art exhibitions.Temporary public art not only has a concept of short time,but also is equipped with open forms of artistic expression.These distinctive characteristics constitute temporary public art with the main features of public,timeliness,flexibility,conception,etc.,which permanent public art is lacking.Furthermore,temporary public art carries a wide range of functions,mainly as follows: constructing the regional culture and public welfare,promoting regional economic development,and improving sound system of public art.Thus,a temporary public art is not only an important part of the contemporary public art system,but also a key way to the future sustainable development of public art.First,the author analyzes the concept of temporary public art,on the basis of which,the historic origin,the specific characteristics and the main artistic forms of temporary public art are studied.Secondly,this paper discusses the functions of temporary public art.In the end,the author conducts a further exploration on the possibility of future development patterns of temporary public art based on the former research.
