In recent years, the overseas sales of British drama created unprecedented revenue, and occupies an important position in the international TV market. Since the premiere at ITV in 2010, it caused a warm response, setting off "Downton trend" in more than 100 countries and regions in the world. "Downton Abbey" which is honored as "the greatest British drama in 21st century". While allowing the British to intervene and participate in the mass media, it has become the global spread of a unique landscape. This remarkable achievement deserves the attention of academic and industry. Therefore, "Downton Abbey," has more research value.This study selected the first season to the fifth season of "Downton Abbey" as the main object of study, statistics and analyzes their script content, communication and culture, and with a literature study to collect relevant literature to obtain a comprehensive and correct perception.Through research, I found that the success of "Downton Abbey," needs the operation of industry. The creative culture industries policy and active seeking international cooperation attitude offers more opportunities to the world spread of "Downton Abbey". Maintaining creative mode makes the creation of the drama more spiritual and more conducive to quality assurance, adding a variety of marketing strategies, it attracts the attention of audience at home and abroad. The use of new media, played a role in the spread of "Downton Abbey". The cultural connotation it shows is an important reason for success, meeting the cultural and emotional needs of the audience, leaving room for recollection and reflection.I believe that the communication analysis on "Downton Abbey" hit phenomenon helps us to sort out the substantive reasons and external help of the great success in the international market of "Downton Abbey", with its reference, we can improve national productions; On the other hand, we can know the audience needs of the international market from audience feedback of "Downton Abbey", open up a new market, and propose for external communication of our drama. I hope that this study may provide some inspiration and reference for the external communication of the drama.
