In the process of adaptation, it is necessary to pay attention to retain the flavor of language symbol and the glamor of image symbol. This article is to research "time" element on adaption of stream of consciousness. This dissertation bases on the stream of consciousness and compares the different means of narration between films and novels on time, it is to get their differences and similarities. The research object of the thesis is divided into four parts.The different expression of time in films and novels. To explore the time element in the stream of consciousness is different for traditions.The time appears introversion in Stream of Consciousness Novel texts. And the time experience of watching movie presents the different planes from the past image, the present image and the future image, which make the different directions of time movement.The feasibility that the text converted into movie image, which is based on the spatialization of time and the matured film technology. Intertextual relationship between language and image becomes the basis points of conversion, while the adversarial relationship has become a place of change.Through the comprehensive analysis of language and image, to explain the change of time when the language converts into image:the intertextual relationship will cause the similarity of time factor; the adversarial relationship will cause the difference and conflict of time.At last we comprehensively analyses the creative skills of producing and achievement of arts between these two sorts of art forms. This article want to say the film maybe cause the loss of lingering charm, because the spatialization of time has gone and the mode of people's thinking has changed.
