With the rise of the positive psychology, humor began to be one of the most important studies to psychologist. The traditional view that humor may help promote physical and mental health. However, Martin etc have proposed the model of humor, and hold that not all of the humor is benefit for physical and mental health in recent years. The model of humor includes four dimensions, named affiliative humor style, self-enhancing humor style, self-defeating humor style and aggressive humor style. The first two is beneficial to physical and mental health, while the latter two detrimental to physical and mental health. Grades 5-6 students in primary school are in the stage of transition from adolescence. If researchers do study on their humor styles, we may raise the level of their peer acceptance. In this way can make them adapt to high school life better. Therefore, this paper has certain theoretical and practical significance.Firstly, the literature review has completed on basis of reviewing a large number of domestic and foreign literature about humor styles and children humor styles. Secondly, the psychology teacher was invited to review Chinese version of humor styles questionnaire. After the pre-test on grades 5-6 students and data analysis, the formal questionnaire for study is formed. Thirdly, the other group of grades 5-6 students were tested by using the revised questionnaire. Then humor styles were analyzed in demographic variables using t-test. Finally, children's level of peer acceptance have been measured by peer nomination. The relationship between humor styles and peer acceptance level were researched by using correlation analysis and regression analysis at the same time. The results suggested that:(1)Humor styles have appeared among grades 5-6 students, including affiliative humor style, self-enhancing humor style, self-defeating humor style and aggressive humor style.(2)The humor style of grades 5-6 students showed significant difference in demographic variables such as gender, grades and native places. But have no significant difference in only-child and non-only child. Boys prefer using self-defeating humor style, while grade 5 students are more inclined to use self-enhancing humor style and self-defeating humor style. The urban students are inclined to apply affiliative humor style and self-enhancing humor style.(3) Grades 5-6 students'humor styles and level of peer acceptance are closely related. Affiliative humor style can promote the level of peer acceptance while aggressive humor style cannot promote the level of peer acceptance. There was no significant correlation between self-enhancing and the level of peer acceptance, but self-defeating humor style can promote the level of peer acceptance.(4) Affiliative humor style shows positive prediction to the level of peer acceptance; Aggressive humor style and self-defeating humor style have negative prediction to the level of peer acceptance; Self-enhancing humor style has no prediction to peer acceptance.
