During the 17 years (1949-1966), the full-length novels which writers narrate and reflect wars led by the Communist Party of China is called the seventeen years full-length war novels. In the past, when the researchers discussed the seventeen years war novels, they regarded the writers as the creators who lose the subjective independence will and be disciplined by political ideology, they neglected the effects of writers themselves. This topic will focus on the writers as creative subjects and expand the discussion in two parts. The first part will be based on the writers'life and educational backgrounds, study the multiple identities of these writers who produce the seventeen years full-length war novels and the roles and influences of the multiple identities to the novel writings. In the second part, we should explore how the authors'characteristics are obliterated and which aspects are denied, and when the writers'main features are subsided, to what extent works retain their characteristics through its modification and adaptation process. Most writers who produce the seventeen years full-length war novels have similar educational backgrounds and similar life experiences-born in poor families, participate in the war and gradually grow up to be writers in revolutionary practice. Unique growth experiences make them fully accept and be faithful to the ideology of the proletariat and consciously accept the guidance of Art Policy; personal experiences of war not only make them acquire abundant practice experience, but also help them break some kind of ideology imprison and get some kind of autonomy based on "experience"; when absorbing the nutrition of literature, they would also consciously or unconsciously form part of intellectual temperament feelings. This complexity superposition and resonance make these full-length war novels have rich and personalized details under the "cookie-cutter" appearance. Of course, as the late fifties political thought more and more "left", the control of national mainstream ideology to literary become more and more serious, these novels were constantly modified and adapted, works are modified by collective or themselves for ideological purposes, the identity of creators constantly grow weakened, the personal elements in text are constantly decreased, the writers have gradually become the providers of stories and the interpreters of literature and art policy. Even so, there are still some "flash" pass the gatekeepers' supervision and modification, they are preserved stubbornly. This detailed investigations of the text appeared in a particular period have great significance for us to explore the internal laws of literature.
