An investigation of the vocabulary exercises in intermediate Chinese intensive reading course. This paper makes an investigation of the vocabulary exercises in intermediate Chinese intensive reading course. Students in this period are in the situation where they have to enlarge their vocabulary densely. And practice and exercises are the best way to consolidate the knowledge. So it is very necessary to know the current situation of vocabulary practice, analyze the factors that influence the effect of vocabulary practice and find the existing feature and shortage of vocabulary practice, which makes it easy to give teachers advice for words practice.The author had the foreign students in the class C and D in Shaanxi normal university answered a questionnaire about the vocabulary practice in intermediate Chinese intensive reading course.35 copies of the questionnaire I are effective. I had the teachers who have taught the intermediate Chinese intense reading course answered the questionnaire ?.20 copies of them are effective. The questionnaires involve from the quantity and forms of the practice, whether they can meet the demand of students, etc.The first chapter is introduction. It introduces the research results about the practice, evaluation of teaching materials and the vocabulary teaching methods. Meanwhile, introduces the related theoretical basis, mainly including the memory and forgetting theory in cognitive psychology, mental lexicon, and activates the diffusion theory. The second chapter introduces the features of vocabulary in intermediate intensive reading course, including the concentrating teaching difficulty, the large amount of abstract words and idioms and phrases. At the same time, students have to consolidate the words before. Then with the help of the students' subjective attitude and the results comparing the students centralized and decentralized two vocabulary practice mode we know that the choice of mode is mainly depends on the subjective feelings and characteristics of students. Chapter three introduces the factors that influence the effect of vocabulary practice. Analyze and found the problem from three aspects following as teaching materials, teachers and students. In the teaching material aspect, draw a conclusion that vocabulary practice have a large number but little major words in them, it has the forms related to the forms of words, the topic is given priority to with comprehension questions. Then analyze teachers' language, dictation practice and the classroom practice and practice after class. The last part give the teaching Suggestions such as strengthen the word-formation teaching, pay attention to the multitude dictation, sentence practice design to pay attention to the vocabulary and content, etc. Then comes the design of a vocabulary practice instance. The last chapter is conclusion.Hope this research would provide the reference advice and help for the future vocabulary teaching and the practice.
