The issue of Reading Classics was a series of controversies on the pros and cons of the significance and effect of Reading Classics in early age, which is also a century-old problem in the process of Chinese education modernization. The best solution is to use empirical method, especially Educational Psychology Method. For the existing empirical research is relatively not deep enough, this research adopts the questionnaire method, measuring method and experimental method to study children's learning effect and its influence to the children's creativity, intelligence and positive psychological level. This study selected 34 primary school students (mean age 8.18±2.07) of an school of Reading Confucian classics in xi'an as subjects, including 22 boys (mean age 8.27±2.25) and 12 girls (mean age 8.00±1.76). We choose Wang Caigui's reading textbooks of "The Analects "as the reading textbooks. The first research is the development of questionnaire for the measurement of learning effect of elementary students; and then we have the questionnaire surveyed three times during the period of elementary students'one-month reading of Analects of Confucius, to explore children's learning effect of reading materials, such as the memory, understanding, application, and the change of each dimension in the process of reading. The second research is to use a single set of test design to measure the students' creativity, verbal intelligence, working memory, positive psychological level before the experiment and after the experiment, studying the effect of classic reading behavior of children. The results show that the memory, understanding and application of the Analects of Confucius reading class students for learning materials is not high, but their emotions are positive. Among them, the memory and comprehension score were not significantly related, comprehension and application score has a significant correlation. The memory, understanding and application of children for learning materials all had significantly decrease during the reading time, except for the recognition score, the understanding of concepts in pairs. Reading class children's creativity, verbal intelligence score and working memory scores were significantly lower. The conclusion is that the method of only reading and reciting classic but don't understanding it is not a good way to learn; the Analects of Confucius reading cannot improve the students' creativity, positive psychology, verbal intelligence and working memory performance.
