The Controlled Association Teaching Method is a kind of teaching method for teaching Chinese as a foreign language which is popular in North America and Chinese teaching programs. Drill Classes and the teaching method of interactive questions are closely related to The Controlled Association Teaching Method, and are used.in most of the summer North America programs in China today. They are under the direction of some teaching models such as "MingDe model" and "Princeton model" This teaching method in each program has had great responses and has obtained much outstanding teaching effects.Preparing lessons is the key to successful classes. Every foreign language teacher knows the importance of preparing lessons in the entire process of teaching. How to make a class achieve the best teaching effect? The answer is to do the best in preparing lessons.Based on the practicability and effectiveness of The Controlled Association Teaching Method, this paper takes great efforts to study how to apply this kind of teaching method into preparing lessons of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.In order to define this teaching method, the writer introduces the Controlled Association Teaching Method in details and explain the "Control" and "Association" respectively first. In the second part the writer introduces the practical application of this teaching method in aspect of preparing lessons of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at length.The writer concludes and shares experiences from specific examples, which exhibits the methods and process of preparing lessons under the instruction of The Controlled Association Teaching Method, by participating in two Chinese teaching programs in person. The writer also analyzes the development and limitation of the methods of preparing lessons from personal experiences, and hopes to provide teaching plan templates and some references in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in the future.
