A Survey Of The Language Use Of Primary School Students In Chengzhong Village, Shijiazhuang City

The process of urbanization makes urban language survey necessary. The urban language survey covering all aspects, at present, the academic circles has appeared many more surveys of different urban groups in language use, but has not specialized in language study on primary school student who lives in urban-village. Carrying out language study on primary school student who lives in urban-village can help us know about the linguistic life of primary school student in such a special area, and then infer the influence that urbanization makes on linguistic behavior of primary school student, which can enrich the content of urban language survey.This paper uses related theory and methodology of sociolinguistics. And examine the current state of language using of primary school student who lives in urban village from the use of language, language ability. The methods of study in this thesis are fieldwork, compare and qualitative and quantitative analysis of sociolinguistics, which makes the research more comprehensive and individualized.Through the investigation and analysis we found that when the primary school students make internal communication the using of Putonghua and dialect show a larger difference because of different origin. Some students can only speak a single kind of language and some student can speak more than two kinds of language. And the younger the object is, the more possible they you Putonghua. The older the object is, the more possible they use dialect. When the primary school students make external communication the using of Putonghua has acquired a monopoly and obviously appears a tendency of city convergence. In terms of language ability, the ability of using Putonghua is rising and the ability of using of dialect is falling. In terms of language attitude, the primary school students who live in urban-village show a more positive attitude towards Putonghua comparing with dialect. The Urbanization, the promotion of Putonghua and Putonghua's highly use value makes Putonghua hold a strong position. However, the loss of dialect in a new generation is still a problem that cannot be ignored. Families and schools need take corresponding guidance about language education for the primary school students who live in urban-village.The research increases rich and valuable information for urban language survey. And provide suggestion for language policy of Shijiazhuang and do basic work for the protection of the dialect, the promotion of Putonghua as well as the trend of language using.
