Uighur Folk Dastan's "Boz Yigit" Study

Uyghur folk "Dastan" is the combination of poetic and narrative language.Uyghur folk"Dastan" has long history,rich in meaning,which describe Uyghur's values,way of life,religious believes.In this paper,I will study about one of the Uyghurs' love dastan "Boz Yigit".Dastan talks about the difficulities and hardships of love.For Uyghurs live in the center of "silk road",where Uyghur culture,Chinese culture,Indian culture,Greece culture and Arabian culture are mixed.This dastan,in the development of history,a number of "dastanqi"spoke many times,and written by good clegraghy,and live on today.So,this dastan considered multiethnic dastan.In this paper,I have used the book written by Helim Niyaz,which was published 1982 by Xinjiang publishing house.And I have used the method of descriptive,comparative,analysation,conclusion,in which I have studied the plots,the motifs,poetic features and rhetorics.This paper consists of five parts including introduction,body part,conclusion and the appendix.The introduction part mainly introduces the research trends of Uyghur folk Dastans(in general)at home and abroad;illustrates different versions of Uyghur folk Dastan "Boz Yigit" published so far,and various studies on these different versions.Body part has three sections,the first chapter focuses on the main content of Dastan "Boz Yigit";section two discusses the time and locale of the story as well as the tomb of protagonists that still exists in Korla city.Section three analyses the central idea of whole Dastan.Chapter two is the core of whole thesis.It focuses on the motif analytic study of story line of Dastan "Boz Yigit".This section lists out all the motifs that used in Dastan according to the Stiff Thompson's taxonomy on folktales.The third chapter analyzes Dastan's stylistic form,from the two aspects of stylistic language and rhetorical devices,this part tries to find out dastan's commonly used types of figures of speech and manifests the Dastan's language beauty and artistic beauty;In the conclusion part,author summarizes the content of three chapters above,and gives appropriate insights and views.The appendix is the Chinese translation of Dastan,and this could be considered as the most complete Chinese translation of Dastan "Boz Yigit".
