Uyghur folk Dastan refers to narrative literary works combining folk poetic language and prose language. These folk Dastans have a long history and rich content, describing the values, lifestyles, religious beliefs and disputes and wars of various tribes in ancient times. The "Rose" studied in this article is a typical love Dastan.Dastan tells a difficult and tortuous love story. As the Uighurs live in the center of the ancient Silk Road,Uyghur culture,Central Plains culture,Indian culture,Persian culture,Greek culture and Arab culture are infiltrated and compatible with each other. Moreover, this Dastan was sung by several "Dastanci" and folk artists in the course of historical development, and has been recorded by calligraphers to the present. This article is composed of four parts:introduction, body, conclusion and appendix. The main body is divided into three chapters:The first chapter gives a detailed overview of the folk Dastan's "The Rose",including the basic content of the "Rose",plot analysis, character introduction and other information content related to the Dastan text. The second chapter uses the American scholar Thompson's motif index method to list and discuss various motifs appearing in Dastan. This chapter is also an important part of the thesis.Motif research is one of the most common research methods in Dastan research.Based on traditional research methods, this article uses a multi-disciplinary perspective to discuss the motifs that appear in the text. The third chapter mainly starts from the rhetoric aspects to find out the rhetoric such as metaphor, exaggeration, contrast, repetition, parallelism, comparison, call, sigh, etc.which are commonly used in Dastan. This article is mainly based on the edition of "Selected Works of Folk Literature of Robbour" published in 2012 by editor-in-chief of Umar Yiming. It translates his work into Chinese and gives the form of international phonetic symbols, which fills the gap in this area.In addition, this article focuses on the research of Dastan's "The Rose" on the level of folk literature, and introduces it more comprehensively.
