Research On The Phenomenon Of Square Dance Based On The Perspective Of Urban Communication

This paper is from the perspective of urban sociology and urban communication to explore the popular square dance phenomenon.The results show that the square dance is not only getting a lot of public attention as a part of urban life,but also playing an irreplaceable role in the city life.First of all,the square dance connects the human beings everywhere and builds a city's geospatial network for people that provide varieties of possibilities to meet each other.Secondly,in a strange city,the square dance group gradually develops into a acquaintance network,expands the social capital,forms a strong relationship group.What's more,the communication of dancers set up a series of meanings about the square dance,the meanings are different inside and outside the group.In the space aspects,the square dance takes place as a link to make peoples together,which provides new possibilities for meeting and communicating.From the dimension of time,dancers' time feeling of the space from scratch and run to connect the integrity of the epoch,which conveying more meaningful informations.It can be said that the place of square dance itself is a medium.The interactions among dancers in the space establish different meanings and set up a space network which can communicate with each other.In addition,people's interactions are weaving a network of connections,communications and meanings for the whole city.
