Communication Constitutes A Community: Discussion On Dance Team Of Cherry Blossom Plaza In Chang'an District, Xi'an

In recent years,square dancing has become popular all over the country,whether in urban squares or in rural towns.Square dance is not only a way for people to relax and keep fit,but also an important field for people to interact with each other.The popularity of square dance has activated the urban cultural atmosphere and changed the current situation of community decline.Based on the theory of constitutive community,this paper examines square dance as a special community constructed by the communication interaction of dancers.Taking the Sakura Square Dance Team in Chang'an District of Xi'an City as a case study,it uses qualitative research methods to explore the interaction and construction between human communication behavior and special communities.It is found that square dancing connects individuals in the space and forms a network of interesting relationships.The dancers deepen their communication through companionship activities and virtual social interaction.For dancers,square becomes a space of relationship.The communication also weaves the meaning network for the square dance community.The dancers' interaction makes the square become a space with special significance.It is a space for the dancers to rediscover themselves and realize their self-identity and group belonging.The communication and interaction of dancers make the people and space connected,forming the square + dancer square dance space,which is what we call a special community.
