Research On The Development Dilemma And Regeneration Strategy Of Contemporary Chinese Sculpture Parks

Reflect on the development of sculpture park in China,we can find that sculpture park has increased significantly in number,diversity and popularity since its first appearance in 1985.However,few of these parks are successfully operated.The majority of them are faced with dilemma in operation or management.In an era of "new normal"of social and economic settings,rethinking the properties and significance of the sculpture park is crucial for their regeneration.This study selected Qingdao Scuba Sculpture Garden as a typical sculpture park,and combed the origins,evolution and development of the sculpture park in China.Having reviewed the development process compared with those of foreign sculpture parks,we find that several problems related to space,works,management,function,operation,marketing may exist.Correspondingly,we propose strategies for their further improvement and enhancement.Generally,the key to revive the park lies in taking the sculpture park as one theme of the special cultural products and incorporating them into the city culture and economic development as a vital role.Specifically,three aspects of regeneration strategies:frontier position of the sculpture park,interactive experience of the process,operation and management,including ten sub-aspects,such as the theme,source of work,function settings,space design,interpretation,atmosphere creation,culture,organization and management,capital protection and IP shaping were proposed,aiming at providing guidance for future construction and development of sculpture park in modern China.
