Open parks as an important part of the city,have gained more and more popularity and received public attention.In order to improve the parks' environmental quality and their artistic and cultural connotations,meet the public aesthetic,entertainment needs,and provide the public with a relaxed,stress-relieving space,interesting sculpture in open parks played an irreplaceable role.With the development of the society,the diversification of advanced technology and materials,the popularization of the art,and the intrusion of art into the daily life,The design forms of the funny sculptures becomes increasingly rich,which brings about opportunities for the creation and exploration of the interesting sculptures.but also for the open park interesting sculpture design innovation and exploration Brought more opportunities.This paper aims to focuses on “the interesting sculptures in the open parks” and give an general introduction to the connotations of the open parks and interesting sculptures.Then it makes an in-depth analysis of the present situation of the funny sculpture design,and proposes the design approach and the its principles for application based on a general review of both overseas and domestic designs.Finally,through analysis of the designing of Handan Menghai Ecological Park,this paper explores the ways to make open park funny sculptures more unique,popular,and interesting.It also discusses how to integrate these features with the environment together to create a “funny mood” so as to reflect the social functions of the public art,e.g,to beautify the environment,to improve the living,to entertain the public and to mirror people's life through the form of funny sculptures,.The research is expected to contribute to the theories and practice of open park funny sculpture design in the future.
