Yan Shouping's Artistic Experience And Related Issues In Yangzhou

This article is mainly about the art experience of Yun Shouping in Yangzhou who is one of the "Six Art Masters in Early Qing Dynasty" in Kang Xi period.It focuses on Yun Shouping came to Yangzhou,but he did not have an development there and the influence of this trip,which provides a unique perspective to study so many artists who sold their paintings in Yangzhou to survive in the early Qing Dynasty.This article starts from the life of Yun Shouping who lived by painting and make friends in the low level of society as an artist left from Ming dynasty.When he came to Yangzhou,he was busy in running around painting markets,which provides some clues of the reasons that he came to Yangzhou.Then it explains why he must come to Yangzhou just because Yangzhou was so attractive that a lot of painters came here to sell their paintings to support their families.The historical data also shows that Yun Shouping has been to Yangzhou frequently at the beginning of Kang Xi period,especially in fourteen to fifteen years of Kang Xi period when he stayed in Yangzhou nearly one year.During the time he made a lot of friends and studied the famous paintings with them.These paintings were finished during Song and Yuan dynasty and also he left some exquisite works.However,the historical data shows that Yun Shouping ' s situation was not as well as the other painters in the same period in Yangzhou.He didn' t sell his paintings so well that he didn' t stay in Yangzhou as long as he thought.But what is the reason of this phenomenon?To solve this problem,this paper focuses on the recovery of society politics,economy,culture condition of Yangzhou in the early Qing dynasty so as to clarify the art adaptation with the society.Compared with the living conditions of other long-term staying painters in Yangzhou,it gives the reasons why Yun Shouping didn't choose to stay in Yangzhou by having ideas about the relationship between Yangzhou officials,merchants and the painters.Finally,according to the historical data related to Yun Shouping and Yangzhou,this paper also analyzes the influence of Yun Shouping' s experience in Yangzhou.This article firstly pays more attention to the project of“Qing Yun Shouping being in Yangzhou" by using literature method,image study,comparative study and other methods to explore the relationship between Yangzhou' s painting area and Yun Shouping and a series of contacts between painting and other social factors during the period of Yangzhou's restoration in the early Qing Dynasty.Through studying this project,it not only provides a clue for us to study Yangzhou ' s painting at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty but also provides us an important topic that the development of social economy and culture is playing a leading role in the development of art.Yun Shouping's coming to Yangzhou is the result of social development here.In a certain extent,what he was going on in Yangzhou is from the imbalance between the social environment of Yangzhou and the requirements of painting.Art has always been to serve the development of society,and in other words,the art will always be changed under different background of society.
