"Bamboo slips of Wu kingdom unearthed at Zoumalou in Changsha",as an important part of the unearthed bamboo slips and silks literature, has its valuable academic research value.Based on this starting point, this paper makes a comprehensive and systematic investigation and research on the words of judicial documents in Wu slips by using the research methods of statistics and classification, description and explanation, synchronicity and diachronicity,so as to enrich the academic research achievements of Wu slips, and lay the foundation for further in-depth study. The paper is divided into three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction mainly introduces the research status of Wu slips since it unearthed in 1996,and the research situation of ancient legal words. The research work on Wu slips' words is relatively weak, and the existing research results have not been involved in the judicial document words of Wu slips.Taking this as the starting point and innovation of this paper to determine the topics and standardize the gist and standard of selecting judicial document words in Wu slips. The main body is divided into three parts: In the first part, the judicial document words in Wu slips will be divided into seven categories: documents and officials, documents' types and idioms, judicial relevant organs and officials, supervision, penalty and name, accusations, and litigation(including: the form of laws and decrees, the discovery of the case, arrestment and imprison, trial and the exploration of the truth, admission of guilt, conviction),and the specific words of each division will be explained in detail.Among those words,"inspection" and "litigation" words are the main parts. From this,it can be seen that the situation of the storage and the egress and ingress of money and food is taken seriously in the Wu Dynasty, and the judicial process is "the discovery of the case"-"arrestment "-"trial"-"the re-inspection of the truth"-"the words of admitting guilt"-"conviction by the rule ".In the second part,on the one hand, through the analysis of semantic field with different sizes,we can get that judicial semantic field of Wu slips has hierarchical and relativistic characteristics.Under the same semantic category, there are more synonyms, mainly in the "supervision" and "litigation" two categories. This also inspires us to pay attention to a slight difference between the synonyms on the basis of understanding the meaning of words. On the one hand, after interpreting the words,it is concluded that there are three basic characteristics of simplicity, accuracy and rigor. In the third part, firstly,by diachronically comparing and analyzing the judicial words in the legal documents of Qin-Han bamboo slips,it is concluded that both of them are mainly composed of two syllable words, and there are a lot of synonyms and polysemy in the semantics. Both of their pragmatic features embody the conciseness and rigor of legallanguage. But there are still some differences between them. The use of basic vocabulary, the emergence of new words, and the death of old words will change because of the influences of times environment and social background. And then with a comparative study on "Chinese Dictionary",the words in Wu slips can add new words and separation of meanings, and improve the textual evidence for "Chinese Dictionary",which will contribute a certain value to the development of lexicology. The Conclusion summarizes the full text and puts forward some shortcomings in order to help the follow-up research work.
