Bamboo slips of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period unearthed from Zoumalou in Changsha(Wu Bamboo-slips)has an incredible amount and a rich content,including all aspects of the society in Sun Wu State.It has great value because Its discovery has largely compensated for the shortcomings of the historical materials of the Three Kingdoms period.Since Wu Bamboo-slips discovered,the sorting team has carefully arranged and explained it.So far,nine volumes has been published.This paper takes the bamboo slips ? of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period unearthed from Zoumalou in Changsha(Bamboo Slips ?)in Changsha as the research material to make an exhaustive research on its variants.By carefully checking the plates,this paper collates and arranges a new interpretation as reliable as possible,and establish a corpus of interpretation.On this basis,this paper deals with all the variant characters thoroughly,all whose glyphs are taken from the original plate,and perform a background coloring process to compile a corpus of the variants.On this basis,this paper also classifies and describes the variants in detail.Finally,this paper summarizes the characteristics as well as causes,and explores the significance of its research to provide materials and references for the research on Wu Bamboo-slips and the study of variant characters as well as the history of Chinese characters.This paper is divided into the following parts:Chapter One Introduction introduces the research material and research status.It describes ideas and methods of this paper,and discusses the concept of variant characters and other related textual phenomena.Chapter Two and Chapter Three are the main body.The two parts make a classification to Bamboo Slips ? to divide it into six categories: originating from ancient Chinese characters,phonetic sign for changing or semantic sign,component position change,deletion,addition and graphological deviation,and meanwhile describe and analyzes them in detail.Chapter Four summarizes the characteristics of the variants in Bamboo Slips ?,analyzes the reasons for its formation,and explores the significance of its collation and research.Appendix ? is the glossary of variants in Bamboo Slips ? where the variant characters appearing in the text can be found,reflecting the overview of the variants in Bamboo Slips ?.Appendix ? is the collation of Bamboo Slips ?.
