With the rapid development of computer-based multimedia technology,a large number of English vocabulary acquisition software with multimedia annotations have appeared in the market.However,the study of multimedia annotations at home and abroad mainly focused on the effect of multimedia annotations on vocabulary acquisition in text reading,and less on multimedia annotation in vocabulary acquisition software.Therefore,this paper chooses the vocabulary acquisition software,which is the first of the total English users,and takes the second-year college students of Heilongjiang Vocational College as the experimental subjects,and adopts the methods of vocabulary test,compared with traditional vocabulary teaching in English class,the multimedia annotations in "Baicizhan" : whether text annotation,picture annotation,audio annotation and video annotation are effective to English vocabulary acquisition.The questionnaire survey and personal interview were used to explore the attitudes of the second language learners to the multimedia annotations in the vocabulary acquisition software to prove whether the multimedia annotations are suitable for the vocabulary teaching in class.The results of SPSS22 show that the multimedia annotations of "Baicizhan" have a positive effect on English vocabulary acquisition and are more acceptable to students than the traditional English vocabulary teaching.This study is of great significance to the development of English vocabulary acquisition software,English classroom vocabulary teaching and broadening the field of multimedia annotation research.
