On the basis of the mythical and epic works of the Manchu and Mongolians,this paper compares the image of the evil gods in the two ethnic literary works and finds out the similarities and differences between the two.On the basis of clarifying the different cultural backgrounds,it proves the process and pattern of the development and evolution of the two cultures in the long contact and fusion.This article holds that the image of the gods in Manchu and Mongolian folk literature is the representative of the powerful and irresistible natural forces in the eyes of its ancestors,and carries various social factors in its development process.Manchu evil gods eruri and manggai with the Mongolian gods erlik and manggus has a certain relationship;the erlik in Mongolian literary works came from the myth of Turkic;in the contact between the Manchu and the Mongols,the image of erlik passed the Manchu mythology,forming the image of eruri;similar to the manggai and manggus,they have appeared in the other Altaic peoples,and have a certain relationship between them.
