Recently, linguists have paid more and more attention to typology research. Some domestic scholars have introduced some foreign typology works. This paper selects Chapter 14——Copula Clauss and Verbless Clauses of Basic Linguistic Theory(Grammatical Topics),written by Australian scholar R.M.W.Dixon as the object of translation practice,in order to further introduce foreign forefront research achievements. The original text is characterized by a large amount of terminology, and examples labeled by Leipzig Glossing Rules, which is also the biggest barrier in translation. This report offers many solutions for how to translate English linguistic texts to Chinese at lexical and sentential level. At the lexical level,it offers solutions that terminology with several translations can be translated in accordance with context and parallel texts, and literal translation with notes can be adapted for lexical gaps;At the sentential level,it discusses how to translate grammatical category labels,one-tomany correspondences, person and number labels and inherent categories in Leipzig glossing systems,so that to some extent it may provide some reference for the translation study of linguistic typology texts.
