Semantic Study Of Russian Linguistic Terms

Russian terminology was formed in the early of 1930 s,nearly eighty years ago.When terminology became an independently synthetic discipline,scholars attach importance to researching its connections with neighboring disciplines as well as its internal development,and hence,the characteristics of specific subject terms become an vital research object of terminology.Linguistic terms,as a linguistic phenomenon as well as research objects,arouse great concern of scholars aboard and at home;however,in some ways the research on it is not sufficient.In accordance with the historical and social background mentioned above,the study,under the guidance of the theoretical achievements in terminology,analyzes,researches and strives to find the laws of semantic phenomenon with regard to linguistic terminology so as to strengthen its cognition and application.The study is composed of three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction gives an illustration of research background concerning Russian linguistic terminology,puts forth the research objective and significance of the study,and points out the important and difficult points as well as material resources.The main body is composed of four chapters.Chapter one severs as the literature review in regard to the research status abroad and at home of linguistic terminology so as to give the research orientation.Chapter two elaborates the fundamental theory of terminology and analyzes the definition of terminology and its features,and hence,lays the foundation of the study.Chapter three analyzes the features of Russian linguistic terminology and its compositions and lays the foundation of the semantic research.Chapter four,an important part of the study,analyzes synonymy,antonymy,polysemy and homophony with respect to Russian linguistic terminology.Moreover,the chapter elaborates the necessity of unifying Russian linguistic terminology and its growing trend.Eventually,the last part makes a conclusion of the whole study.
