As an individualized female writer,Xiao Hong has been famous as an anti-Japanese writer in 1930s in literature circles in Shanghai,the research on whom experienced up and down in the history of literature.In 1940s,she became controversial in the name of woman,who hadn't been explored until 1980s.To date,the issue about the identity of Xiao Hong is still far away from accordance in the literature field.However,as the discourse of an era changing,Xiao Hong's female identity is always simplified as a political expression so that the complexity and richness have been abolished,leading to the de-historization.Based on this problem,the article tries to date back from the history,gets access to her creative time and recognizes the influence from the identities as an intellectual and a female exerted on Xiao Hong's writing with the sense of times.At the same time,the article will go back to observe the difference presented in her writings and try to sort out the relationship between Xiao Hong's writings and era.The first chapter will find out Xiao Hong's way from the May 4th Movement to revolutionary literature through sorting out the passages written before the anti-Japanese war.From Trek to Business Street and then to Hand,the relationship between class and identity never disappear in her works,which went further as time going.Due to the female characteristics and the participation in class self-establishment,the writings showed the unique personality.The second chapter used an entry point that mattered most to Life and Death to observe the relationship among female,class and nation state in Xiao's works.As the most controversial and influential work,Life and Death has been given different explanations and the relationship among those three elements added the complexity and richness for the literature,in which Xiao Hong showed the interaction in different scenes with lots of people with different sex,class and national site in distinctive perspectives of villages and cities before and after the anti-Japanese war.The third chapter discussed about the peculiar reflection towards anti-Japanese war and how it worked in Xiao's writing.The difference between the after-war articles and mainstream anti-war ones mainly came from her female perspective.Sensitive as a female,the situation for poor people made her look into the war as the weak.The Modern text not only expressed her homesick but observed Chinese in critical way and it also focused on the exist for the weak citizen at war.But no matter what was written in Xiao's works,the hope that transforming and constructing China was always the same.
