Paper replicasis an important part of the funeral in Chinese agricultural society,the integration of folk art and folk crafts in form.In spirit,it is the concentrated reflection of problems on Chinese traditional view of life and death,the rural community structure,and the rural social evolution.Types of paper replicas,production methods and the using occasions have undergone tremendous changeswith the acceleration of the urbanization process,the loss of rural population.Because of the special attributes of paper replicas,the status goes that there is a lack of original film and drawing materials,and the existing research results are few,that makes the cultural heritagethat paper replicascarries faces irreversible loss.This paper selects a small,representative region from the eastern part of Hebei,as the starting point,present the current situation of paper replicas base on the field understanding,striveto reflect the basic appearance of the paper at present,explore the aesthetic characteristics of paper bundle locally.Meanwhile,trace back to the tradition as much as possible,and speculate about the future.Also wish to reflect some of the spiritual sides of contemporary farmers.The writer basically represents the status of paper replicas in the east of Hebei,through field trip,representative interviews of paper replicas makers,network information screening and previous literature comparison,also conducts a tentative extraction of the spiritual information,aesthetic characteristics,provides a reliable sample for a larger area study and future researches.
