In the fast-paced modern life with too many replicate structures,people are more and more tired of following the same pattern everywhere and they are starting to seek design that"touches the heart".The thesis guides the exploration of the "unexpected" in physical and spiritual world by creating "abnormality" in design.The thesis explicates the design of "abnormality" and its source,and elucidates the corresponding emotional experience that evoked by this "abnormality".The design process and its major components were also explained in details with examples from different points of view and application fields.The author’s own design with "abnormality" were also carefully organized and the specific cases of "abnormality" creation in display art were emphasized.Objects,space or behaviour should not only focus on the subject itself,but also provide a way for the introspection of relationships among people and between people and the society.The thesis aimed at illustrating the advantages and future of the design "taking the opposite tack" by analyzing the creation of "abnormality" in design.The goal is to introduce this"abnormality" concept into display art and apply this design theory to create the "Life is art"environment and inspire thinking of the past,present and future,and improve the spiritual display design.
