A Comparative Study Of The Shanghai Conservatory Of Music And The Music Education Department Of The Mahidolol Conservatory

This paper presents the similarities and differences between Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Mahidol University College of Music by comparing the history between Chinese and Thailand,the history and the development between the two colleges,the music education departments and the curriculum settings.Both Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Mahidol University College of Music are renowned music academies in China and Thailand respectively,but the history of Shanghai Conservatory of Music goes back much longer than that of Mahidol University College of Music,in terms of both the school education system and its music majors and courses.The history of music education in Thailand is relatively shorter,but presently it has reached a mature degree of development.Its all-round curriculum development provides a good foundation for students.Although the political and cultural backgrounds of the two colleges have been quite different,they will continue to move forward.The paper hopes to bring new inspiration to readers and open up possibilities for future academic exchanges between the two universities.
