As long as there is movement of things,will produce rhythm.In the film and tel evision art,change of audio-visual language can form a variety of rhythm.Character documentary take the human as subject and respect the objective facts.compared to o ther film and television works,narrative and expressive techniques is limited.Avoidi ng making the film dull as ditch water,the characters documentary need to use flexibl e rhythm to carry out facial expressions.Based on the theoretical origin of Kant 's aesthetic sense of common sense,aesthetic consensus will be further subdivided into emotional consensus,cognitive e xperience and cultural consensus by studying the previous views about the aesthetic consensus and incorporating on the perspectives of film psychology and film aestheti cs.In this paper,Analysing the rhythm in the film with many excellent characters do cumentary as an example is helpful for the documentary creators to better balance th e relationship between the rhythm of film and psychology,and aesthetics.Because o nly a better understanding,experience the emotional experience of the audience,and creating from the point of view of aesthetic consensus will help character documenta ry spread in a wider range,gain more audience's affection and recognition.The first chapter is the introduction,mainly elaborated the origin of the theory o f aesthetic consensus and its development in China,and made an overview and classi fication of the rhythms commonly used in the documentary.The second chapter to th e fourth chapter is the core chapter of the article,the second chapter from the perspec tive of inner emotional rhythm and external emotional rhythm analysis how to make the emotions expressed in the documentary be consistent with the audience's emotio ns in aesthetic experience and consensus by controlling the variety of the narrative,s ound,scene,and the tone of the changes in the documentary.The third chapter,based on the consensus of the audience cognitive experience,is analyzed how to control th e documentary rhythm from the set of suspense,to resolve the conflict,grasp the len s movement and the use of montage four aspects.The fourth chapter focused on how to seize the words of leading character,demonstrate its cultural symbols and choose a appropriate perspective to suit the different style of films in the character document ary,to serve the diffusion of documentary cultural.We can know the rhythm plays an important role in the quality of films from theresearch conclusion in this paper.However,the factors that affect the rhythm are far more than those mentioned in the paper.Both the visual sense and auditory sense are demanded in the film.It is necessary to make full use of the aesthetic consensus,the universal criterion,to guide the creation,so as to make a harmonious and unified whole of the visual sense,the auditory sense and rhythm then the audience will acquire emotional resonance.
