Research On The Poetry Of The Southern Song Dynasty

In the Song Dynasty,a large amount of monographs and notes that appreciate,discuss and explore the style of writing articles have appeared.Thus,the academics now take the Southern Song Dynasty as the establishment period of ancient Chinese article science.At the same time,a way of writing which introduce literary criticism to the writing of poems started to obtained focus from the Tang Dynasty since poetry on poem writing arised in this period.During the Song Dynasty,the content of poems has been enlarged,and a creation idea formed that nothing cannot be written in poems.Meanwhile,to discuss how to writing poems has becom a habit of writing of people in the Song Dynasty.With the perfection of the method of argumentation,as well as attention paid on article writing,people in the Song Dynasty,by combining article science with poetry writing,created poetry on article writing this special writing form.Now,there is a number of studies on poetry on poem writing and poetry on calligraphy creation,however little attention has been paid on poetry on article writing.Therefore,the observation on poetry on article writing is of great importance.The author thinks that there are two main values of critical poem.The first value of critical poem is intrinsic value.From the point of view of poetry,the critical poem had a wide range of contents.It not only involved related contents of prose study such as changes of article style and the relationship between literacy and maxim,but also closely related to historical and political background at that time.Meanwhile,due to the spread poems and numerous poets,they helped to grasp the overall writing style and intellectuals' style of poetic circles in the Southern Song Dynasty under the macroscopic angle.The second value of critical poem is specificity which means words discussed in the form of poetry.There were many works on the topic in the Southern Song Dynasty,and scholars made great achievements in the analysis of literary writing methods.Whereas critical poem was subject to stylistic rules and forms,instead of making concrete analysis,while the poets commonly discussed the abstract issues in poems such as the spirit of writing and the relationship between picture and morality.In the meantime,poetic language provided a more simple,intuitive and convenient approach over argumentative articles.Therefore,criticalpoem is more vivid and easy to understand when analyzing the problems.Together with the critical poems,reviews and monographs all complement the content system of the article in Southern Song dynasty.This dissertation includes five parts:The first chapter defines and traces to the source of poetry on article writing?There are a wide range of definition of ‘article' according to academia at this time.According to concept of article defined by Shangshu Zhu in <the theory of article in the Tang and Song Dynasty>,this text wills clarity the concept of poetry on article writing through analyzing article,poetry on poem writing,poetry on calligraphy creation ?In the aspect of discussion about original of poetry on article writing,considering of the particular writing style of poetry on article writing,this dissertation researches on two aspects,including pattern of literary criticism and narrative techniques poetry,in order to sort out the development of poetry on article writing?The second chapter discusses the formation background of poetry on article writing through history opportunity and motivation of internal culture.From the background of politics and history,advocating literature and restraining military,the national policy of Song Dynasty formed the environmental that attaching importance to literature.In the next place,the improving fairness of imperial examination prompted scholars to study hard,which had impact on the knowledge reserve of literati group.In addition,the reform of examination's content was necessary condition for the emergence of article theory.From the perspective of poetics,there was no doubt that conversion of Tang and Song poetics thought resulted in the characteristics of Song-Dynasty poetry that filled of comment feature and comprised various themes.From the perspective of thought motivation,skepticism influenced by Song-Dynasty philosophers was the ideological basis of creative spirit of people in Song Dynasty.After the Southern Song Dynasty,imperial examination paid more attention to articles,and Statecraft Ideology of Confucianism forced Confucian scholars who had literati identity to explore articles.As a result of that,article theory of the Southern Song Dynasty began to emerge.All these contributed to the establishment of poetry on article writing in the Song Dynasty.The third chapter concentrated on port group of poetry on article writing?As theports of poetry on article writing are scattered,the writer conducted a simple arrangement and clarification,dividing into three categories,Civilian ministers ?Jiangxi poets?and Confucians.This part concluded writing style and opinion through analyzing the three kinds of poetry on article writing port.The fourth chapter focuses on the theoretical interpretation of the content of the Tang Dynasty poetry on article writing.The first part is the stylistic function.In Stylistic aspect,the text mainly explained writing and evaluation of examination of articles and Stone plate article,and from function aspect,the text explore the function of articles according to the opinion of the relationship between picture and morality in Southern Song Dynasty.The second part is branch of thought and history,which argue the development and inheritance of literature and the pursuit of article style from the view of people in Song Dynasty in the perspective of poetry on article writing in Southern Song Dynasty.The third part is style of writing that discuss spiritual and pursuit of scholars in Southern Song Dynasty combining ‘the spirit of writing'?The fifth chapter is about analyses of writing characteristics of poetry on article writing in Southern Song Dynasty,which can be concluded in four features:Discuss literature over cups of wine,light and lively;Draw the bow without shooting,cited but not fat;Emotions overflow in word,literary and historical;Writing with metaphor and simile,poetry and idyllic.Poetry on article writing is a special literature form that combines poetry and article,which is enrich its vale of research.It is a development of poetry as a way of writing,a ultimate expansion of poetry content,and also the necessary supplement to the materials in the Southern Song Dynasty.
