The Synthetical Research Of Xie Fangde’s Article Models

The literature criticism is highly developed in Song Dynasty and during South Song Dynasty, article criticism is prosperous. During this period, besides the article criticism monograph there are all kinds of Selected Books, in which classic articles are chose, text and commentaries are synthesized. The appearance of selected books is a important sign of highly developed article criticism. Xie Fangde’s Article Models is a very popular selected books and Xie Fangde,the editor of this book, is a well-known person in his contemporary society because of not only his poems and compositions but also his great personality in his contemporary society. In China this book had great influence in afterworld. When it comes to Ming Dynasty, this book was transmitted to East Asia countries, such as Japan, Korea, Malaysia. In this thesis, I will try to show how this book affect the afterworld in china mainland, to find out when this book is transmitted to Japan and why it is greatly accepted by Japanese.In chapter one I show the motivation of my study and make a survey of fomer study. The method of my study is synthesizing philology and literature.In chapter two, this thesis try to find out why selected books are so popular in South Song Dynasty. It shows four factors, the imperial examinations in Sung Dynasty, the developed printing technology, prosperous literature criticism, different philosophy idea genres.In chapter three, this thesis give a particular study of Article Models and analyzes when this book is finished, how this book is compiled by Xie Fangde,the character of it and the relationship between this select book and article criticism of South Song Dynasty.In chapter four, this thesis illuminates the influence of Article Models and the acceptance by the subsequent readers. And in Ming Dynasty somebody is so praiseful to the book that he edit Continuous Article Models. This thesis finds the genuine editor of Continuous Article Models. In Ming Dynasty there was another edition of Article Models, called aggregating comment edition.The chapter five focuses on the relationship of between Article Models and Chinese article theory in Japan. It illuminates how many edition of Article Models printed by Japanese and how the book printed in China was transferred to Japan.The chapter six is the final conclusion of the whole thesis.
