A Glimpse Of The Fascination Of The Tang Dynasty

In China,there are only three Tang dynasty colored mud sculptures,which is in Nanchan,Temple Foguang Temple,Qinglian Temple in Shanxi Province.Nanchan Temple is the oldest one of Chinese oldest wooden building,at least before the year 782,Tang dynasty colored mud sculptures in the temple are very perfect,which has important historical significance and artistic value.Foguang Temple was built in 857 AD,the famous architect of China thought Foguang Temple is "Chinese first national treasure",the35 Buddhist sculptures of Dongda Temple are all late Tang Dynasty sculptures,great value.There are also 6 Buddhist sculptures in Qinglian Temple,which are considered as Tang Dynasty sculptures,(The 6 Buddhist sculptures in Qinglian Temple which are considered as Tang Dynasty sculptures in "ancient painted statues in shanxi province","Shanxi cultural relics collection-Temple sculpture volume" and other authoritative books)But it still has many problems,so it can not make sure whether they are the Tang Dynasty sculptures.Therefore,the author will Sort out and explore the three sculpture groups,through one by one analysis,mutual comparison and other methods to restore their true appearance,getting a precise conclusion in this thesis,which can make some positive and useful contribution for research about the Shanxi ancient temple color sculptures.
