During the Southern Dynasties,the Yellow River basin in the northern region was turbulent throughout the year,There was a large number of people migrating from the northern to the southern because of the war.Meanwhile,they brought the advanced artistry.As a result,the Southern society showed an unprecedented prosperity and development.To a certain extent,It was a great impetus to the Southern culture,art and various aspects.The mausoleum stone sculpture in the inheritance of the art of the Han Dynasty and the Wei Dynasty got a good development thanks to the skills came from the Northern art,and its carving style and approach gradually mature and perfect,on the basis of the magnificent of Han and Wei,the fine combination with surface lines decoration showed lively and diverse art forms,which showed the spirit of the area characteristics,can be called the classic one in the history of Chinese fine arts.The earliest record about the research of tomb stone animal is in 1923 in "Liang Dynasty tomb test" wrote by Zhang Huang from France.After then,Zhu Xizu,Zhu Qi,Teng Gu,Luo Xianglin and other scholars continued the research.While with the appearance of the new archaeological discoveries,the writings on the tomb of the Southern Dynasties were increasing,many of the original writings have been slightly far-fetched view.This paper includs the source of the names and shapes,the characteristics in different stages and present situation and the causes of the stylistic styles about the tomb stone animals in the Southern Dynasties.sums up more effective and convincing arguments on the basis of combing the perspectives of forefathers.In addition,combined with my own experience as a sculpture art practitioners,from which to draw a unique performance techniques to better develop my sculpture form and spirit of the content.
