Research On The Modeling Characteristics Of The Stone Beasts In The Emperor Mausoleum Of The Southern Dynasties

This article will start from the artistic perspective to discuss the shapes of the beasts of the Southern Tombs.First,from the three aspects of social environment,ideology and culture,and the development of tomb customs,the background factors of the Southern Tombs'formation are analyzed.Then,explore how the aesthetic standards of other art categories promote the evolution of its conformation,such as calligraphy,painting,and literary works.Furthermore,use timeline as a clue to trace the progress of traditional Chinese conformation from the pre-Qin to the Han Dynasty.At last,analyze the conformation of the stone beasts of the Southern Tombs from the aspects of "shape" and "momentum",and explore the aesthetic concepts and self-conscious modeling concept behind the characteristics of the stone beasts in the Song,Qi,Liang,and Chen eras.Through the analysis of conscious modeling,the research on the field of tomb stone beasts in the Southern Dynasty could be expanded and deepened."The Southern Dynasties is a period of transition from Han to Tang.It is particularly important.The human consciousness,the literary consciousness,and the artistic consciousness were all formed in the Six Dynasties." As a bridge and medium for communication between people,gods and ancestors,the Stone carving from tombs of the Southern Dynasty presents us with aesthetic characteristics and cultural connotation that are different from the West.With the passing of time,its artistic value becomes increasingly significant.Current researches on stone carvings in the Southern Dynasty is mostly based on historical value and cultural relics.There is not enough researches on the stone beasts in the Southern Dynasty.However,scholars have reached a consensus that the development of ancient Chinese plastic art into the Southern Dynasty has gradually entered the self-conscious stage.This article tries to further explain the "art consciousness" in this special era(the Southern Dynasty),which is of great significance not only for the study of the stone beasts in the Southern Dynasty,but also for us to understand the overall development and evolution of the history of art.
