To research the mediating effects of the self-esteem between parenting style and achievement motivation of students in higher vocational college schools,712students have been assessed with measuring tools, such as EMBU, the self-Esteem Scale and the Achievement Motivation Scale. The results show that:①there is significant difference of higher vocational students’ achievement motivation and self-esteem in the gender.②there is significant difference of higher vocational students’ achievement motivation and self-esteem in the professional.③there is significant difference of higher vocational students’ achievement motivation and self-esteem between the only child and the child who has brothers.④parenting style and self-esteem levels were significant predictors of achievement.⑤there is mediating effects of the self-esteem between parenting style and achievement motivation of the higher vocational students and56.7%of the total effect of is the mediating effect for the only child and18.2%for the child who has brothers. The higher vocational students’ parenting style play a role to achievement motivation through the level of self-esteem as mediating effect. |
