The Relationship Between Social Support, Self-worth And Coping Styles And Intervention Studies Of Male Combatants

Psychological factors in compulsory detoxification plays an important role in drug treatment. The purpose of this study is to exploring the psychological mechanism of drug addicts' social support, self-worth and coping style. The study adopts quantitative research and intervention research, to explore the relationship between the social support, self-worth and coping style from the data; and to prove that changing social support can bring the difference of self-worth and coping style from the practical level. This research selected 250 drug addicts as sample to questionnaire survey by using Social Support Rating Scale, The Self-worth Scale and The Coping Scale, and got 225 valid questionnaires. At the same,time, a group counseling including 18 drug addicts was organized for 8 weeks to study the relationship of three variables. The results are as follows:1. According to the research of drug addicts, there is a significant difference in the academic background of self perceived value, communicative competence, life attitude, mature coping style and immature coping style. The objective part of social support and social relationship of self-worth have significant differences in marital status.2 There is a significant positive correlation between social support and self-worth, self-worth and mature coping style, social support and mature coping style.There is a significant negative correlation between self-worth and immature coping style, social support and immature, mixed coping style.3. Life attitude and objective support can significantly predict the mature coping style positively. Objective support, communication ability and family relationship can significantly predict immature coping style negatively. Communicative ability can significantly predict mixed coping style negatively.4. Social support plays a positive role in the prediction of mature coping style,and self-worth has a positive predictive effect on mature coping style. Social support plays a completely mediating role between social support and coping style.5. After social support group counseling intervention, the social support and coping style of experimental group and control group were significantly different.Before and after the intervention, compared with the control group, the social support and coping style of experimental group were significantly different.6. Pictures, audio and word materials show that social support group counseling intervention can effectively improve social support, self-worth and coping styles.Conclusions are as follows:1.The various factors of social support, self-worth and coping styles can interact each other and form a complicated relationship. Social support and self-worth can be different because of marital status. Self-worth and coping styles can be different because of education.2.Social support can predict coping style through self-worth. More social support you have, higher your self-worth are. And your coping style will be more mature.3.The social support group counseling can improve the social support state of the drug addicts, and promote the occurrence of mature coping. Meanwhile, it can change some drug addicts' self-worth.4.Social support groups counseling can come into effect through establishing the relationship of a group. It is an effective intervention.
