The Research On The Relationship Among Actual-ideal Self-discrepancy, Coping Style And Depression Of The Drug Addicts

The aim of this research is to develop an actual-ideal self-discrepancy questionnaire for drug addicts based on the measuring methods suggested by Higgins(1987) and 304 drug addicts were tested by actual-ideal self-discrepancy questionnaire,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire,Self-rating depression Scale and Family Assessment Device to explore the relationship among actual-ideal self-discrepancy,coping style and depression of drug addicts.The conclusions are as follows:1)The actual-ideal self-discrepancy questionnaire for drug addicts we developed includes 5 factors.It has favorable reliability and validity and can be used to measure the actual-ideal self-discrepancy of drug addicts.2)The actual-ideal self-discrepancy of male was higher than that of female on 5 factors and the total discrepancy,and male was significantly higher than the female on the factor of friendship.3)The actual-ideal self-discrepancy of the guiltless was higher than that of the guilt on 5 factors and the total discrepancy,and the guiltless was significantly higher than the guilt except the factor of the relationship of family and ability.4)There were not significant differences among different records of schooling and between different drugs.5)The family assessment,actual-ideal self-discrepancy,coping style and depression of drug addicts are correlated with one another.6)The actual-ideal self-discrepancy of drug addicts have indirect influence on the depression through coping style and it also has direct influence on the depression.
