Xu Wuguan Chorus Command Teaching Research

Xu Wuguan was a famous choral conductor and musical educator in contemporary china.He was under the supervision of Professor Ma Geshun and he also became his last disciple.He devoted himself to Chinese chorus course since the early '60s.Mr Xu both carried out chorus conduction practices positively and took many efforts to summarize the ways and experiences of chorus conduction at the same time.He had a long-term choral conduct education,he also had an actual investigation of the basic level musical education.Therefore,he established scientific musical education theory and system which possessed his own unique voice,and they became precious wealth in choral conduction of normal universities and primary and secondary schools in china.The basic choral education in china which had a lower level than the developed country's choral education is in the embryonic stage of choral education and its ideas remained at the levels of 80's and 90's in last century.We had some vague consciousnesses and concepts of choral education in basic ideas,basic methods and points for attention of rehearsals.There was still a particular phenomenon like�fake�,�exaggerated�,�empty� in choral education.Aiming at the fact,Mr Xu promoted the whole level of choral education in china by the way of cultivating a multitude of basic choral educators although he taught at the normal university.The thesis takes Xu Wuguan as an object of research and aims at observing and recording his methods of choral education and educational ideas by the method of my long term observation and record of his choral rehearsals and performances and my interviews after entering into his teaching class.At the same time,I would have a discussion with him about some ideas and methods in choral education,I also would have a research and analysis his published book and papers.In the end,I would have a summary about them.Then,the thesis is mainly divided to three parts:Firstly,this chapter is about choral education opinions of Xu Wuguan.I mainly analyze his macroscopic choral education ideas.I would have a specific presentation and exploration of three basic education ideas about �open the cognitive competenceof students�,�guide students to use skills and knowledge�,�formulate teaching aims�which were put forward by him.We can know his basic choral education thinking and direction.Secondly,this chapter is about Xu Wuguan's different age stages choral education.I would discuss about the cultivation of students' choral ability and ideas in their primary school stage and analyze about choral train and teaching methods in students' middle school stage,and students basically in a sound period of change in this period.This chapter is the focus of the thesis,we can specifically understand Mr Xu's main teaching ideas and aims for the basic choral education in china by my analysis here and we also can know that how to promote choral basic choral teaching and how to enhance basic choral quality.Thirdly,Xu wuguan processed chorus works in an art way.In this chapter,I introduce what and how he did in above aspect.There were three important points which he emphasized and also representing his characteristics in the processing chorus works,that was �opening,developing,changing and concluding� of the analytic approach,highlighting �dramatic conflict of works�,attaching importance to the creativity of piano accompaniment.Therefore,this chapter makes us know about the style of Xu wuguan's processing chorus works and learn more methods and perspectives of analyzing chorus works through my discussing and researching this three points.Fourthly,what about Xu wuguan's influences on the development of Chinese chorus undertakings.On the one hand,Xu wuguan who was a chorus teacher in normal university concluded his chorus teaching ideas of primary school,middle school and normal university and published textbooks and theory books for reference,on the other hand,he also introduced and translated large batches of foreign classical works with different styles,and he arranged and published Chinese classical chorus works,what all he did didn't only make a lot of university students know a mass of chorus works and let them learn relevant knowledge and methods,but also effectively relieved the pressure of our nation's chorus works shortage.Hence,Xu wuguan played an active driving role and had a certain influence in our nation's choruseducational undertakings through the way of carrying out teaching activities tightly around �normal education�,publishing textbooks and introducing great works.I hope to share Mr Xu's choral teaching ideas by my analysis about his choral conduction education,and hope to call for all of you to give more supports and show solicitude for our nation's basic choral education so that we would promote the development of choral education careers in china.
