With the development of modern society,people's demand for spiritual needs have changed after they have been satisfied by the material living conditions.Under this circumstance,the traditional art culture has drawn more and more attentions and played increasing proportion in people's life.Numerous intangible cultural heritages have faded away along with the time changes and urbanization process for a long time,which has evoked the people's awareness on the protection and promotion of intangible cultural heritages.Taking people-oriented idea as its core feature,intangible cultural heritage entail its value connotations in its skills,experiences and cultural spirits.Among them,the living evolution is the most essential feature of intangible cultural heritages,which puts greatest emphasis on its property,as well as draws the spirituality of cultural quality.In 2007,Yin-Yang Board was listed one of the first in Intangible Cultural Heritage in Shandong Province,which had drawn lots of public attention to the inheritance and preservation of the Yin-Yang Boards in Zoucheng.Yin-Yang Board is a kind of dance used in worship ceremonies for rain-praying.Rain-praying,also known as rain-begging,is a kind of witchcraft activity centering on agricultural production as well as harvest-praying,while the worship ceremony for rain-praying is the most vital,grand and widely-spread folk activity for ancients.In their daily life,rainfall is the most critical factor for a harvest year.Worship ceremonies for rain-praying,which are various and wildly spread,are pretty crucial expressive form of dance in the history of China and even in current China.In worship ceremonies for rain-praying,sacrifices,musics and dances are used to please deities to rain.In the eyes of ancients,deities attend great importance to causality and thus,they are able to gain material as well as spiritual enjoyment from mortal world before they solve people's problem of drought.As a well-known dance used in worship ceremonies for rain-praying,Yin-Yang Board is widespread in the mountainous areas in East Zoucheng.It features the dances along with musics knocked by the cooperation of two boards and it has had a history of over 400 years in China.In this thesis,Yin-Yang Board in Zoucheng is mainly summarized and analyzed comprehensively from four aspects: origin,history,ontology characteristics,cultural nature,inheritance and development.In the thesis,the methods of field investigation,observation,documentary and interviewing are applied,to explore dance movement features as well as art features of Yin-Yang Boardthrough the scientific and specific analysis and studies on materials and data gained by virtual field investigation.The origin demonstration and the significant development of Yin-Yang Board are described in the introduction part,the analysis is also carried out on major findings and study methods provided from home and abroad.With studies on the location,natural environment,social,historic environment and cultural inheritance in terms of Zoucheng County,the origin of Yin-Yang Board is explored and the ontology of its dance is analyzed from it forms,among them,the emphasis is dance movements,performing forms and accompanied percussion music of Yin-Yang Board,the basic performing forms of Yin-Yang Board are reorganized to lay a good foundation for follow-up studies.In addition,it has placed Yin-Yang Board in Zoucheng under the influences of China's profound traditional culture to further analyze the cultural meanings in its costume designs,properties production and field plotting,to interpret the influences of“harmonious consciousness” and agricultural culture on Yin-Yang Board in Zoucheng.Finally,this thesis will explore the value of in-Yang Board in Zoucheng from three respects,culture,society and art,to inherit and developfrom the data acquired through investigations.
